Core (Junior program)

Core Classes

AM/PM Nursery ages 2-5

free

Unstructured play, reading, snacks, games, music, discovery learning

*Younger babies are welcome with a parent present

AM Juniors ages 6-9

We are looking into putting together a rotation of Thomas Jefferson based learning for this class

PM boys/girls club ages 6-8

Depending on the number of participants, this group may combine with the older children of the same gender OR the class may become co-ed based on the needs of the group

Love of Learning Classes

AM transition ages 10-11

Transition class provides various learning opportunities, activities, and simulations in math, history, geography, science, art, writing, and literature

PM transition bucket drumming/art ages 10-11

This year our transition students learned how to drum using buckets. Various art projects include paper mache, pottery, color blending, 3D art

PM boys/girls club ages 9-11

Depending on the number of participants, this group may combine with the younger children of the same gender OR the class may become co-ed based on the needs of the group

AM Key of Liberty ages 12-13

Study the American Revolutionary War period, the United States Constitution, and other founding documents

PM Shakespeare conquest ages 12-14

Watch Shakespeare's works come alive by participating in a Race to Royalty; culminate by participating in a play 

AM Sword of Freedom/Hero Ages 13-14

Study the Civil War and World War II and study the heroes of those days; learn to recognize the hero in yourself

AM Pyramid Ages 14-15

Study the subjects of truth, logic, reasoning, geometry, habits of a scientist, mathematics, Pyramid Project Philosophy 

AM/PM Georgics ages 12+

Georgics uncovers the power of being reconnected to the earth and learning principles of community and self-reliance 

PM Classical Acting ages 15-17

Go in depth in the foundational philosophies behind many theater games and activities; learn how to lead yourself and a group

Quest I & II Ages 15-16

In-depth, personalized study of leadership; study great leaders and their landmark speeches; read, write about, and discuss circumstances which lead to greatness

QUEST III Ages 16-17

Learn about self governance and governing a nation; study landmark cases of the Supreme Court, then choose two cases to write legal briefs for, and argue in a mock trial

Edison Project Ages 17-18

Scholars use the knowledge, skills, and abilities they have gained previously to start making an impact now as they create and implement their own projects.    They develop projects based on their passion
