Prerequisites: Shakespeare Conquest

Concurrent Project Recommendation: Pyramid or Quest

Classical Acting goes in depth in the foundational philosophies behind many of the theater games and activities to understand why we do them and how to teach the scholars about these philosophies. Scholars will study one of Shakespeare’s plays and one other play along with the philosophies. We will take time to explore language and teach scholars have to analyze text. 

Classical Acting focuses on having the students lead out and begin mentoring each other. That means scholars will learn how to mentor and will lead the class themselves, working out plans and details. This course will change our understanding of Shakespeare’s words.  We will discuss the audition process and how and why it is different from Shakespeare Conquest auditions. Scholars will create and put on a process drama.
