love of learning

The love of learning phase is a very crucial time where parents and mentors should inspire learning, and not require lots of formal work, if any. Children should be allowed to foster their love for learning and be allowed to pursue the things they feel passionate about within reason. 

Explorers- Ages 8-11

Making of America is the transitional class for students who are still in the love

of learning phase and preparing to enter the practice scholar phase of learning. We will study explorers and visionaries who influenced the discovery of America as well as Westward Expansion.

History, memorization, literature, writing, art, simulations, presentations, class read alouds and STEM activities. Around the World class will learn about a different country each month through art, music, culture, food, traditions and more. 

Explorers who complete certain requirements will have the opportunity to earn a compass. This is done through memorization, writing, simulations, presentations, class read-alouds and studying history, language arts, art, and

STEM activities.
