Our Junior program is for youth ages 1-11, and supports parents in their homeschooling by giving children the opportunity to explore the world around them and be on campus as a family as their scholars meet in scholar projects. We use a philosophy focused on truth and beauty in our junior's program. A love of learning is fostered through imaginary and sensory play, art, fun science experiments, nature study, reading stories,
singing songs, and small and large motor games.
We follow the Thomas Jefferson model of education. Core phase is roughly 0-8 and Love of Learning is roughly 8-12. During the “core,” years, our main focus is relationship based. These little ones feel loved as they develop a sense of duty, right vs. wrong, personal responsibility, and that they are connected to God and the world around them. During the love of learning phase, our main focus is helping the child foster a love of learning and continue to develop their imagination. As much as possible in a group setting, we incorporate interest-based learning. As these principles are correctly applied, as the child grows into the scholar phase they naturally begin to desire more rigorous work. This process happens beautifully and naturally as our youth progress throughout our Juniors to Scholar School at Liber Academy! One of the most incredible benefits to bringing Junior aged children to our school is that they get to see what is in store for them in their future education and they get excited for it!
Our Junior classes are as follows (ages are flexible):
Cosmos (0-3)
Builders (4-7)
DaVinci's (8-10)
Explorers (10-12)
These classes offer Core and Love of Learning children an opportunity to learn, play, build friendships, and prepare for the next phase of learning. They also come to know the other moms as mentors they can trust.
Each mother with participating children is required to be on campus with your children. If your children are there, you are there. If you are not mentoring a scholar project, please plan to be helping mentor these little ones.
