family foundations

our mom's class

The Family Foundations course provides adults the opportunity to have discussions of classic books, learn powerful principles in a lecture environment, and participate in simulations. Format and frequency can change from year to year to meet the needs of the families.  2025-2026 we meet for 45 minutes after lunch as the kids play at the park.

Our family foundations class 2025 is reading Mama's Bank Account by Kathryn Forbes.

In 2026 we are studying The 5,000 Year Leap by Cleon Skousen

Along with the Family Foundation class, an online membership helps the new and veteran homeschooler apply leadership education principles in their own home. Weekly, self-paced lessons combines video learning with application using the Socratic method. As you answer the questions online you are creating a digital record of your growth.

This is also a membership-based experience that comes with many LEMI resources such as an online community, webinars, Q&A sessions, and recorded conference calls. Each month has a different area of focus such as Vision, Mission, Abilities, Skills and Knowledge which are augmented by an online curriculum which is delivered to a parent's email inbox each week so they can go deeper and have a Socratic experience. These lessons are part of the Family Foundation membership, which includes tools for enhancing your home schooling and can be found at www.libercommunities.com. A Family Foundations Membership can also be purchased on its own without the training.
