Our Mentors

SCHOLAR SCHOOL

PRINCIPAL MENTOR:  Anne Faber

Anne grew up not liking history. To her, history was all about memorizing names, dates, places, and events that did not have a great deal of meaning to her and memorizing was very challenging for her. Anne fell in love with history when she began homeschooling her children over 20 years ago. Reading biographies, autobiographies, and historical fiction brought history to life and gave it real meaning. She has taught Key of Liberty for four years.

Faith, Family, and Freedom are three top priorities for Anne, and that is why she enjoys teaching the Key of Liberty class. She is LEMI trained. She finds joy in watching as the young practice scholars begin to find their voice through writing, giving presentations, and participating in debates and colloquiums.

Anne is the mother of nine children ages 10 – 26. She gave birth to six boys. She and her husband adopted three older children from Ukraine two years ago. Anne truly believes that life is an adventure in which we should be learning new things all the time. She is learning and relearning new things ALL the time.

Katie grew up exploring and discovering the woods, ponds, creeks, and fields in the Baltimore, Maryland countryside. Katie is a Footzonologist, artist, principles-based teacher, trained Mentor through Leadership Education Mentoring Inst. and the author of Celebrating Our Original Culture & Story, The Hebrew Way.  She is currently sharing with Mother’s her family curriculum called The Foundation Builder Guide: A Mother’s Guide to Developing Education on The Foundational Character-building Principles of Creation, through online monthly classes and workshops, and nurturing women through Unlocking the Chambers Retreats.
